Something our organization has learned to appreciate is that our time is scarce. Rarely do we, in our lives, get the opportunity to be engaged in this type of work— defending Chinatown. To this end, we just want to say to all the brothers and sisters who’ve supported our cause that in the next couple of months, we expect things to escalate.
We need to pass the Interim Control Ordinance; hold politicians accountable by asking them to not take or return Wal-Mart money; question whether the community development strategies of today pushed by the Chinatown Business Improvement District are truly working.
Let’s fight on!

About

We want to preserve Los Angeles Chinatown's integrity as a ethnic and cultural community. We don't believe it's right that Wal-Mart bulldozes itself into Chinatown without thoughtful consideration of traffic, parking and safety. We want to stop Wal-Mart from moving in.

CALL TO ACTION:
CCED is an all-volunteer group of residents, students, teachers, and businesses united for a better Chinatown. For those that are interested in helping, please email us at: ccedchinatown@gmail.com.
