WSJ reports:

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a former union organizer, has refused to take a public position on the Chinatown WalMart, saying through a spokesman he supports “healthy food in L.A. neighborhoods that aren’t currently served by enough grocery options.”

We don’t understand this response from Mayor Villaraigoisa. However, we would like to clarify for all those that call Los Angeles Chinatown a food dessert to re-examine their beliefs.

About

We want to preserve Los Angeles Chinatown's integrity as a ethnic and cultural community. We don't believe it's right that Wal-Mart bulldozes itself into Chinatown without thoughtful consideration of traffic, parking and safety. We want to stop Wal-Mart from moving in.

CALL TO ACTION:
CCED is an all-volunteer group of residents, students, teachers, and businesses united for a better Chinatown. For those that are interested in helping, please email us at: ccedchinatown@gmail.com.
